Constitution and By Laws

PREAMBLE

 

          We, the PEER EDUCATORS SOCIETY OF AGAY NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL is organized in order to develop students’ fullest potential by guiding and uniting each individual to form uniform goals for the improvement of the whole student body. It includes recruitment, selection, organization, and training of peer counselors. It covers the preparations of programs and activities related thereto and implementation of the services of the organization.

  

Article 1

NAME OF ORGANIZATION

Sec. 1           This organization shall be known as the Agay NHS Peer Educator Society or PES

Article II

PURPOSE OF THE ORGANIZATION

Sect. 1          The purpose of the organization is to help the students to develop self-awareness and sensitivity to others, promote self-worth and boost self-esteem among members of the organization, teach the students the process of helping one another, provide basic skills training on listening, observation, making referrals, communications and handling difficult situations and come up with activities such as self-awareness, communication, value-formation, that will help develop and enhance their personality.

Sec. 2           Bearing those ideas in mind the PES was created to serve as the student arm of the Agay National High School Teen Center in implementing the YOLO program which will address the pressing need of the students to develop their self-confidence, self-awareness, build healthy personality and create harmonious relationship to one another by broadening their understanding on the different situations they face every day. The organization will also serve as avenue of basic helping skills training which they could use in helping other students and identifying those who need to be helped.

 

Article III

ADVISER

Sec. 1           The adviser shall be a member of the Teen Center organized by Agay National High school which advocates the implementation of the Youth Optimizing Life Opportunities (YOLO) Program.

Sec. 2           The adviser shall:

                     2.1 act as the consultant to ensure PES members welfare;

                     2.2 guide the members and its officers regarding its operation and organizational concerns.

 

 

 

Article IV

MEMBERSHIP

Sec. 1           All members shall be currently enrolled student of Agay National high school.

Sect. 2          PFS members shall maintain their good standing by joining the activities and programs of the organization.

Sec. 3           Privileges and Responsibilities of the Members:

                     3.1 Voting: Each member is entitled to one vote.

                     3.2 Privileges: Each member is entitled to all services of the organization.

                     3.3 Participation: Each member shall be entitled to participate in all organizational events.

                     3.4 Responsibilities: Each member shall assist the students who are in need inside or outside the counseling room.

Sec. 4           Types of Membership

                     4.1 The organization shall have two type of membership – Full Pledge Member and apprentice.

                     4.2 Full pledge members are those who completed the PFS training.

                     4.3 Apprentice are those who is under probationary period and must complete the PFS training to be promoted as a full pledge member.

 

Article V

PFS Officers

Sec. 1           The officers of the Peer Facilitator Society shall consist of the following:

1.1  President

1.2  Vice President

1.3  Secretary

1.4  Treasurer

1.5  Auditor

1.6  Public Relation Officer

Sec. 2           All officers must be empowered and perform their duties and responsibilities.

Sec. 3           The officers shall serve for a period of one year.

Sec. 4           The election of officers shall be held as scheduled by the Teen Center Coordinator.

Sec. 5           Officers may be elected by a simple majority vote as facilitated by the adviser.

Sec. 6           Officers are not allowed to handle any major positions in other school organizations.

Sec. 7           Any elected officer may be suspended or impeached from the office for any of the following grounds upon deliberation of the officers and adviser.

                     7.1 Violation of the school rules and regulations and of the PES constitution and by-laws.

                     7.2 Neglecting duties.

                     7.3 Abuse of Authority

                     7.4 Unauthorized letters and activities.

                     7.5 Three or more failing grades in academics per semester.

                     7.6 Other violations not mentioned and yet to be decided upon.

Sec. 8           Any officer may resign from their respective office with a valid reason through a formal letter submitted to the adviser, however the adviser has the option to reject the said resignation.

Sec. 9           Vacancies in office shall be filled by a special election to be facilitated by the adviser.

Sec. 10         The organization shall elect a more active member who can perform the duties effectively and religiously.

 

Article VI

DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS OF THE OFFICERS

          Sec. 1           President

1.1  Plans the activities of the organization with the guidance of the         adviser.

1.2  Implements policies and plans of the organization in relation to the YOLO program.

1.3  Act as role mode in exemplary behavior and good academic standing.

1.4  Shall preside the meetings and proceedings of the organization.

 

Sec. 2           Vice President

2.1 Helps the president in planning and implementing activities of the organization.

2.2 Performs the job of the president in case the president is absent due to unavoidable circumstances.

2.3 Act as role mode in exemplary behavior and good academic standing.

          Sec. 3           Secretary

                               3.1 Assist the president in maintaining order in the organization.

3.2 performs other duties related to his/her office and functions.

3.3 Act as role mode in exemplary behavior and good academic standing.

3.4 Shall be the one to record any activities, seminars that has been done by the organization.

3.5 Shall take charge in the minutes of meeting and safeguard all documents of the organization.

Sec. 4           Treasurer

                     4.1 Shall collect and received the finances of the organization.

4.2 Assist other officers in keeping order and discipline in the organization.

4.3 Shall make financial report and status of the organization regularly.

4.4 Performs other duties related to his/her office and functions.

          Sec. 5           Auditor

                               5.1 Shall audit all financial reports made by the treasurer.

5.2 Shall assist the treasurer in the financial matters of the organization.                

          Sec. 6           Public Relation Officer

6.1 Shall be the one to manage the organizations CHAT ROOM and Social Media page.

6.2 Shall be the one to contact all members and informs them about events, meetings, seminars of the organization.

6.3 Shall construct invitations to be given to any school authorities who might be invited to any activities of the organization.

6.4 Maintains and update the bulletin board of the organization monthly.

          Sec. 7           Adviser

7.1 Shall guide the organization on its operation and other technical concerns.

7.2 Shall serve as consultant in any matters affecting the organization.

7.3 shall facilitate the election of the organization officers.

7.4 Shall observe the meetings conducted by the organization.

7.5 Shall conduct trainings for all members of the organization.

 

Article VII

REGULAR/SPECIAL MEETING

Sec. 1           Monthly meeting shall be conducted by the president or whoever oversees the organization.

Sec. 2           Special meetings may be called by the adviser should he/she deem it necessary.

 

Article VIII

AMMENDING AND RATIOFYING CONSTITUTION

 

Sec. 1           The constitution may be amended and ratified during the general assembly of the organization with at least ¾ votes of the total active members.

Sec. 2           Any appeal to amend this constitution shall be expressed in a formal letter and shall be approved by the officers and adviser.

 

Article IX

Validity

Sec. 1           This constitution shall take effect immediately upon the acknowledgement of the officers and approval of the adviser.

                               We, the officers of the Agay NHS Peer Educator Society do hereby acknowledge this Constitution. We shall follow it strictly and religiously, fully aware of the consequences of violating its regulations and provisions.
